Mikayla Hellwich is the founder and director of Drug Education Consulting. She has been a community drug educator and public policy reformer for the last 10 years. Her approach as an educator centers mindfulness and individual autonomy. To further integrate mindfulness into this work, she is enrolled in the two-year Mindfulness Meditation Teacher Certification Program at the Awareness Training Institute and Greater Good Science Center at the University of California, Berkeley. Mikayla earned a Harm Reduction and Overdose Prevention Professional Development Certificate from Indiana University School of Public Health, is a Certified Peer Educator by Students For Sensible Drug Policy, and is trained in psychedelic peer support by The Zendo Project.
Oriana is a career harm reductionist and racial justice organizer. She currently serves as the Vice Chair of the Board Directors at Students for Sensible Drug Policy (SSDP). In 2019, she worked as a case manager for a needle exchange in the South Bronx. She consults individuals and organizations interested in deepening their commitments to social and racial justice. Oriana received her BS in Psychology at Fordham University, a Harm Reduction in Psychotherapy graduate certificate from the New School, and will receive her Masters of Divinity from Union Theological Seminary at Columbia University in 2022.
Angela Willing is a social worker and mother to a pre-teen daughter. She embraces a holistic therapeutic style with a focus on cognitive behavioral therapy and motivational interviewing. Angela has worked in a harm reduction-focused treatment center and provided crisis intervention for children and adolescents.
